Our Six Labor Pools
Report described below is a special and unique way
that our database can be used to deliver critical
pay information. A PDF description is available
here.
A PDF with complete ordering information is
available here.
The report provides base pay data on hundreds of
common jobs reflecting the recipient’s requested
market percentiles and aging for six specified
location and industry-based labor pools. This
information is provided in PDF format, but can also
be pre-loaded into our software (Pay
Integrator) for year-end planning and ongoing
pay administration.
As illustrated below, for each job (and where
available and statistically meaningful) the report
provides the number of employees, 10th, 25th,
median, mean, 75th and 90th percentiles and percent
change over the prior year. The data are aged to the
date and at the compound annual growth rate the
recipient specifies. The recipient can also specify
any two custom percentiles from 1st to 99th.
Based on the recipient’s selected target industry
and two target locations (with either or both being
a state or metropolitan area), pay data for each job
are shown for six labor pools:
1. The target industry at the first location (e.g. a
city)
2. All industries combined at the first location
(e.g. a city)
3. The target industry at the second location (e.g.
a state)
4. All industries combined at the second location
(e.g. a state)
5. The target industry for all of the United States
6. All industries combined for all of the United
States
Thus, pay data are provided for labor pools
considered to be local (e.g. a city), regional (e.g.
a single state or two adjacent states), or national,
and considered industry-specific or not
industry-specific.
