This web
page describes CompFacts’
UltraSurveyXL
service – a custom pay survey solution which
uses Excel to collect and report participant pay
data. This should not be confused with our
UltraSurvey
product. That product collects and reports
participant data using a proprietary program for
those functions, and provides support for
surveys needing to collect and summarize a wide
range of text-based data and allow participants
to perform structure adjustments, strategic
analyses and other complex tasks without using
any other software.
UltraSurveyXL
is CompFacts' service for quickly (in about one
month) and affordably (generally about $2,000)
designing and conducting professional-grade Excel
(not web)-based custom pay surveys which provide
unparalleled value to participants. Unlike published
surveys, it provides up-to-the-minute information
tailored specifically to the survey sponsor’s
precise competitors, jobs and data requirements –
but without the cost, complexity, risk and long
turnaround of traditional custom surveys. Please
contact us to begin a survey or if you have any
questions.

What Survey Participants
Can Expect
(More Information)
Each survey participant receives a
comprehensive report of customized survey results in
the form of an Excel
workbook reflecting the specific survey’s
information (possibly including supplementary
U.S.
Government pay data selected by the participant), data cuts (labor pools), and statistics
specified by the survey designer. These reports:
* Display the
participant's own submitted data and job titles
* Reflect any market statistic (1st thru 99th
percentile) requested by the participant to
supplement standard statistics
* Display complete "us vs. market" comparisons at
the job, grade and structure level (using the
selected calculation method), including comparisons
to internal midpoint, percent rank in market and
staffing comparisons
* Allow participants to single-click to hide all
non-matching data cuts when performing competitive
analyses on individual and/or aggregated matching
data cuts
What Survey
Designers/Sponsors Can Expect
(More Information)
A survey designer/sponsor uses a powerful Windows program to
specify all aspects of their custom survey –
including collected information (with validation
rules), data cuts, jobs, invitees, desired custom
statistics, whether supplementary
participant-selected U.S. Government pay data will
be provided, and participant directions (which are
automatically-created). The program includes
extensive built-in libraries of data fields and jobs
to speed the process. The design phase generally
takes one to three days.
All post-design tasks are automated and operate 24/7
for virtually instantaneous completion – including
creation of data collection Excel workbook, emailing
invitations/survey materials and sponsor status
notifications, validating participant submissions
and producing and distributing customized Excel
results. An entire survey project can generally be
completed in about one month.
